"How will a HUD-certified class benefit me?"

HUD-certification is required for most down payment assistance programs. It may help you get a lower interest rate, which could save you thousands of dollars over the life of the loan. 

"What happens after I take the class?"

You can sign up for one-on-one, free confidential counseling to help solve or address any problem or concerns which may slow or hinder your home buying plans. 

"What if I've fallen behind in my mortgage payments?"

Open, read and respond to all mail from your lender! Your initial late payment notices regarding your mortgage will contain good information about foreclosure prevention options. Your failure to open and respond to these letters will not play well in the court of law.

"Are there alternatives to foreclosure?"

Lenders have options available to help borrowers who are in trouble financially. They do not want your home. They want a response from you and for your loan to perform. There may be temporary mortgage assistance available to borrowers affected by COVID.
